Nike unveils Classic Edition uniforms for Celtics, Knicks, Warriors

The Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Golden State Warriors will wear some new threads to celebrate the NBA's 75th season.

Nike unveiled new Classic Edition uniforms Tuesday recognizing the three NBA franchises, which were all part of the merger that created the league in 1949.

"Retro uniforms are nothing new in basketball. What is new is how the Nike NBA Classic Edition uniforms intersect with such a pivotal moment in the league's history," Elesban Montoya, design director for Nike Basketball uniforms, said in a statement. "A big reason for the merger's success was the fan support. So this is our spin on historic uniforms, but it's also an emblem of respect for the fans who rallied for their teams and showed up for the league over the years."

The uniforms include design elements from the teams' 1946 threads as well as the classic Nike Sportwear logo, marking the first time it's been featured prominently on an NBA jersey.
