Mac Jones jerseys sell out after Patriots reportedly release Newton
New England Patriots fans were quick to get their hands on Mac Jones jerseys following reports that the team released Cam Newton and named the rookie its starting quarterback.
The Patriots Pro Shop sold out of Jones jerseys within hours of the team cutting Newton on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.
One fan told Rosie Langello of WPRI-TV he went to three different stores hoping to purchase a Jones jersey - with no luck.

Harry Murphy from Walpole says he wanted to get a jersey as a gift for his friend who leaves for boot camp for the Marines soon. The Patriots' online shop had Jones jerseys available in all sizes as of Tuesday afternoon, but they're listed as a "special event item" and could take until Oct. 8 to ship.
Jones, the 15th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, completed 36 of 52 passes for 389 yards and a touchdown in the preseason.
