Michael Jordan's earliest known pair of regular-season game-worn Nikes set a new auction record Sunday.
The red and white Nike Air Ships, which Jordan wore in his fifth NBA game during his rookie campaign with the Chicago Bulls, fetched $1.472 million at Sotheby's to become the most expensive sneakers ever sold at auction. Collector Nick Fiorella purchased the shoes, according to NBC Chicago.
