Peterson turned down 'Dancing with the Stars' to focus on football
Before landing a job with the Tennessee Titans this month, Adrian Peterson was approached about a different opportunity.
Peterson's agent, Ron Slavin of SportStars, told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that "Dancing with the Stars" reached out to the running back in September about appearing on the TV show. Producers would've allowed Peterson to leave the program if he signed with an NFL team, but he turned it down to continue focusing on his training.
"Dancing with the Stars" offered Peterson $150,000 to rehearse, and he could've earned up to $335,000 had he competed on the show, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The 36-year-old Peterson signed with the Titans on Tuesday after the team lost running back Derrick Henry to a foot injury. He's set to make his Tennessee debut Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
