No. 4 UCLA canceled its home game against Alabama State on Wednesday because of COVID-19 protocols, the team announced.

Earlier Wednesday, the Bruins ruled head coach Mick Cronin out for the contest due to protocols. Associate head coach Darren Savino was set to take Cronin's place on the bench before the team eventually called the game off.

UCLA is off to an 8-1 start this season and is slated to face North Carolina on Saturday in Las Vegas. However, it's unclear if that contest will take place as scheduled in the wake of recent developments within the Bruins program.
