Thunder's Gilgeous-Alexander out through All-Star break with ankle injury

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be sidelined until at least the All-Star break after being diagnosed with an ankle sprain, the team announced, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The fourth-year star was on crutches soon after leaving Friday night's 113-110 loss to the Indiana Pacers. The defeat was Oklahoma City's 12th in its last 13 games, moving it to 14-34 on the season.

This is the second time in his career that he'll miss a significant spell after a foot injury limited his 2020-21 season to just 35 games.

Despite his team's performance, Gilgeous-Alexander is having another strong campaign. He averages 22.7 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game, albeit with a career-low 42.4% from the field.
