Report: KD wants Harden to stay in Brooklyn

Amid ongoing rumors surrounding James Harden's future, teammate Kevin Durant wants his co-star to remain with the Brooklyn Nets.

"He wants to continue with James Harden, stay the course with him. There's still a real good chance that's the case when we get past Thursday (the NBA trade deadline)," ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski said of Durant's thinking toward playing with Harden.

Durant, who has been out since Jan. 15 with an MCL sprain, insists on having a group of players around him who are as committed to winning championships as he is, Wojnarowski adds.

Harden has told both Durant and Nets management he wants to remain in Brooklyn going forward, according to Wojnarowski. This comes after Harden passed on signing a contract extension with the Nets before the season started. A recent report also brought to light Harden's displeasure with his role offensively.

Ahead of Thursday's 3:00 p.m. ET trade deadline, the Nets are reportedly willing to discuss trade offers with the Philadelphia 76ers centered around Harden and disgruntled guard Ben Simmons, who has yet to play this season.

Brooklyn (29-23) is currently in the midst of a seven-game losing streak and holds a half-game lead over the Toronto Raptors for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
