LeBron museum to open in Akron
Akron, Ohio, will soon be home to a LeBron James museum.
The LeBron James Family Foundation announced Friday that the Los Angeles Lakers star will be getting his own museum in his hometown next year. The museum will be located inside House Three Thirty, a multi-use facility located near James' I Promise School.
The exhibits will take visitors on a journey through James' early years growing up in Akron's Springhill Apartments to his time at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, according to Craig Webb of the Akron Beacon Journal. There will also be an exhibit space dedicated to his professional basketball career.
"When the (I Promise School) opened, we never anticipated the number of people who would come just to take a picture of the sign," said Michele Campbell, executive director of the LeBron James Family Foundation. "This museum will be fun for everyone."
