Iowa's Keegan Murray entering 2022 NBA Draft
Iowa star forward Keegan Murray is entering the 2022 NBA Draft, he announced Tuesday.
"I am forever grateful that coach (Fran) McCaffery gave me the opportunity to live out my dream. Iowa will always be my home, and I'm forever grateful to be part of Hawkeye Nation," Murray told ESPN's Jonathan Givony earlier in the day.
Murray is a candidate to win numerous honors, including the Wooden Award. He's projected as a lottery pick in the draft and is ranked as ESPN's fifth-best prospect.
The sophomore broke out for the Hawkeyes during the 2021-22 campaign with averages of 23.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks. Murray led Iowa to a 26-10 record, Big Ten Tournament championship, and NCAA Tournament berth as a No. 5 seed.
Murray believes he'll be capable of playing multiple positions at the next level.
"I'll do whatever is needed to win because of my skill set," he said. "This year, I needed to play the 5. I feel like in the NBA, I can play 2 to 5. I can adapt to any position I'm put in."
The NBA draft will take place June 23.
