Trailer released for Jeanie Buss-produced Lakers docuseries
Hulu released the first teaser trailer Tuesday for "Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers," an upcoming documentary series exploring the history of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The project, led by Lakers CEO and controlling owner Jeanie Buss, features appearances from LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, and more. The streaming platform has not yet set a premiere date.
The 10-part series was directed by Antoine Fuqua, who also served as an executive producer alongside Buss. The docuseries is described as being "about family, business, and power - and how all three must be harnessed to achieve greatness," according to Deadline's Lynette Rice.
Hulu's series was reportedly in development long before HBO's "Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty" premiered in March. The HBO series has drawn criticism from several former Lakers players, including Jerry West, who demanded the network issue an apology and retraction over his portrayal.
