Mets select Tennessee pitcher Blade Tidwell No. 52 overall

With the 52nd pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, the New York Mets selected Blade Tidwell, a right-handed pitcher out of Tennessee.

The 21-year-old lights up radar guns with a fastball that touches 99 mph. He showed a knack for performing well in big spots during his high school and college careers, which included trips to a state final and the College World Series.

Tidwell's 2022 campaign wasn't very successful, however, with him missing six weeks due to shoulder soreness. But he possesses good stuff and usually maintains it deep into games.
