Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant says his mother plays an important role when it comes to sharing his thoughts on social media.

In an interview with Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks, Morant explained how his mom, Jamie Morant, helps him decide what to respond to and what to ignore on Twitter.

"I give a lot of credit to my mom for, you know, keeping me kind of in line," he said. "But then sometimes she gives me the go-ahead, like, 'Alright.' And then sometimes I won't even tell her and I just go ahead and do it and then she'll be like, 'Nope, delete it.'"

One instance where Morant's mom stepped in was after he sent out his since-deleted "broke the code" tweet seemingly aimed at Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole after injuring his knee in Game 3 of the NBA Western Conference semifinals.

"Obviously, I was frustrated how I got hurt. I sent the tweet," Morant said. "I actually - once again, my mom came into play, like, 'No, delete it.' Then I seen people start trying to talk trash like, 'Oh, you delete it.' You saw at that time, I probably would have got fined for stuff I said, but I had to take that into consideration. But it's all good with me. I ain't tripping on that no more."

Morant added that he and Poole spoke after the incident and said they're on good terms now.
