Report: Chelsea in talks to buy Kimpembe from PSG
Chelsea are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the potential transfer of Presnel Kimpembe, The Athletic's David Ornstein reports.
PSG are open to selling the left-footed defender, but Chelsea have yet to meet their valuation. Juventus have also contacted the French champions about the 26-year-old Frenchman.
Blues head coach Thomas Tuchel wants to add three center-backs to his squad this summer after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to free transfers. Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly is reportedly set to join for €40 million, and the club is hopeful of signing Manchester City's Nathan Ake, who left Chelsea in 2017.
The Koulibaly deal was struck after Bayern Munich moved ahead of Chelsea in the race for Juventus' Matthijs de Ligt, according to The Guardian's Jacob Steinberg and Ed Aarons.
Chelsea announced the signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City on Wednesday. Per The Athletic, Tuchel has grown frustrated with wide attackers Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Timo Werner at Stamford Bridge, so he brought in Sterling for around £50 million to help revitalize his frontline.
