LeBron James' latest off-court project will center around the life and legacy of Nipsey Hussle.
James' SpringHill Company is partnering with Marathon Films, Hussle's former film company, on a documentary series about the late Los Angeles rapper, according to Dominic Patten and Denise Petski of Deadline.
The yet-to-be-titled series will tell Hussle's life story beginning with his childhood in Crenshaw, L.A., to his later years as a musician and activist. It will feature never-before-seen archival footage and interviews with Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Diddy, and more.
James will serve as one of the executive producers on the series alongside business partner Maverick Carter.
"It's an incredible honor for SpringHill to have a part in sharing Nipsey's story and legacy with the world," the Los Angeles Lakers star said. "He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower, and uplift others along the way. His words, his ambition, and his actions stick with me to this day as he continues to inspire myself, our company, and people everywhere."
Hussle was shot and killed outside a clothing store he owned in South L.A. in 2019 at the age of 33. Eric Holder was found guilty of first-degree murder in Hussle's death in July.
