Rob Gronkowski received an interesting pitch from one NFL team hoping to convince him to come out of retirement again.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots tight end told Kay Adams of the "Up & Adams" show that a club offered to let him wear a No. 69 jersey if he joined them.

"One of the teams that wanted me to come back sent me a picture of me in a uniform wearing No. 69 and told me that I could be No. 69. This was two days ago," Gronkowski said. "If I come back, I could be No. 69 and check in eligible every play, where the referee would have to go over the microphone and say, 'No. 69 is eligible' every single play."

Gronkowski has a well-documented appreciation for the number 69, but the pitch ultimately wasn't enough to get him to return to football. He wouldn't reveal which team made the offer, only that it wasn't the Bucs.
