Seahawks fans donate to Lions' charity as thank you for beating Packers
Seahawks fans are opening their wallets to show gratitude to the Detroit Lions for helping send Seattle to the postseason.
Following Detroit's 20-16 win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, which helped Seattle clinch the final NFC playoff spot, Seahawks fans began donating to the Detroit Lions Foundation.
Seahawks fans have also donated to quarterback Jared Goff's foundation and other Lions-related charities.
"As the game went on, you could just feel Detroit was playing really well, and they had a legitimate chance. You could just tell," Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said after learning his team was headed to the playoffs, according to Tim Booth of The Associated Press. "It was so much fun for everybody. I was hoping there could be a party tonight."
The Seahawks will face the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday in the wild-card round. The 49ers defeated Seattle in both of their previous meetings this season.
