McCarthy surprised by Cowboys' underdog status vs. 49ers
Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy wasn't expecting his team to be underdogs for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers.
While appearing on 105.3 The FAN's "Shan and RJ" show Friday, McCarthy was surprised to learn the Cowboys are four-point underdogs entering their divisional round matchup.
"So we're the underdog?" McCarthy asked. "By four? Wow. OK."
McCarthy added that the Cowboys are comfortable in that position.
"We're very confident. I think there's an underdog in all of us," he said before agreeing with Micah Parson's comments earlier in the week about embracing the team's underdog status.
Sunday's contest will be the ninth time the Cowboys and 49ers have faced off in the playoffs. San Francisco eliminated Dallas in the wild-card round last season.
