Klay vows to return to All-Star Game: 'It's a goal'
Klay Thompson didn't receive an All-Star nod this season, but he expects to make it to the game again before his career is over.
When asked Monday if he believed he deserved to be an All-Star this season, the Golden State Warriors star acknowledged he didn't feel worthy because of his team's record but vowed to return soon.
"To be honest, no," he said, per 95.7 The Game. "If our record was better, yes, but being two games above .500, I don't think I should be in Salt Lake City. But I will be an All-Star before it's all said and done - again, at least. So, it's a goal of mine and I'm gonna show up when it matters most, I'll tell you that."
The Warriors improved to 28-26 on the season with a 141-114 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. Thompson finished with 42 points and a season-high 12 3-pointers.
Thompson has been selected to five All-Star Games in his 12-year career, with his last appearance coming in 2019.
