Capitals re-sign Jensen to 3-year deal
The Washington Capitals re-upped defenseman Nick Jensen for three more seasons at an average annual value of $4.05 million, the club announced Tuesday.
Jensen, who was a pending unrestricted free agent, is in the final season of a four-year pact carrying a $2.5-million cap hit, according to CapFriendly.
The 32-year-old righty has two goals and 22 assists in 62 games this season. He's in his fourth full campaign and fifth overall with the Capitals, who acquired him in a trade with the Detroit Red Wings in February 2019.
Jensen has become a reliable stay-at home blue-liner with strong underlying numbers.

The Capitals elevated Jensen to their top defensive pairing after trading Dmitry Orlov to the Boston Bruins last week.
Detroit drafted Jensen 150th overall in 2009.
