Haaland misses Liverpool clash with groin injury
Erling Haaland wasn't included in Manchester City's squad to face Liverpool on Saturday after a groin injury kept him out of Norway's Euro 2024 qualifiers during the international break.
Haaland has scored 42 goals across all competitions this season, including nine in his last three outings. He's the Premier League's top scorer with 28 strikes - seven more than second-placed Harry Kane.
"He is not fit. He doesn't feel proper. It is not a big issue but today he was not right," City boss Pep Guardiola told BT Sport before the match, according to BBC Sport.
City beat Liverpool 4-1 in Haaland's absence.
Jack Grealish starred in attack alongside Julian Alvarez and Riyad Mahrez while Haaland celebrated City's goals in the stands at the Etihad Stadium. Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool before City roared back with strikes from Alvarez, Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne, and Grealish.
