The Washington Wizards are finalizing a trade sending star guard Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns for a package expected to include Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, and several second-round picks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Beal will waive his no-trade clause, his agent told Wojnarowski.

Washington is fielding offers from additional teams to try to send Paul to a contender as part of the deal, Wojnarowski adds. The Los Angeles Clippers are one of the expected suitors for Paul, sources told TNT's Chris Haynes.

Wizards guard Jordan Goodwin and forward Isaiah Todd are also likely to be included in the trade, according to Josh Robbins of The Athletic and Wojnarowski.

Phoenix was bidding against the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat over the last week after Beal agreed to work with the Wizards to find a trade destination.

With Paul and Shamet outgoing, the Suns will now only have five players under contract for the 2023-24 campaign: Beal, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Deandre Ayton, and Cameron Payne (partially guaranteed).

Phoenix will have $163 million in salary committed to Booker, Durant, Beal, and Ayton - just $6 million below the projected luxury-tax apron of $169 million.

A three-time All-Star, Beal will form a formidable trio alongside Booker and Durant. The Suns acquired Durant from the Brooklyn Nets for a blockbuster package in February.

Beal averaged 23.9 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds last season. The 11-year veteran has spent his entire career in Washington.
