LeBron teaming up with Peyton Manning, Obamas on NBA docuseries
An NBA version of the hit Netflix series "Quarterback" is being developed by LeBron James, Peyton Manning, and Barack and Michelle Obama.
James' SpringHill Company is partnering with Manning's Omaha Productions and the Obamas' Higher Ground on a documentary series following various NBA players, Meredith Woerner of Variety reports. The series will be similar to "Quarterback," which provided viewers a behind-the-scenes look at three NFL quarterbacks during the 2022-23 season.
The NBA is also involved in discussions about the series, and it's expected to air on Netflix, according to The Wall Street Journal, which was the first to report the story.
The first season of "Quarterback" premiered in July 2023 and featured the Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings' Kirk Cousins, and former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota. Manning is an executive producer on the show.
