DeVito files trademarks for nicknames; plans to sell meatballs, pizza
New York Giants rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito is looking to cash in on his newfound popularity.
DeVito recently submitted applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the nicknames "Tommy Cutlets" and "Passing Paisano," according to trademark attorney Josh Gerben of Gerben IP. DeVito plans to sell a variety of branded merchandise and food items such as meatballs, pizza, and pasta.
DeVito's family went viral earlier this month for the enormous tailgate spread they cooked up prior to the Giants' Week 14 win over the Green Bay Packers, which included over 300 chicken cutlets.
DeVito has started five games for the Giants this season in place of the injured Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor. He has completed 64.4% of his passes for 1,032 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions.
