X map shows most of U.S. backing FSU in Orange Bowl

Florida State's omission from the College Football Playoff appears to have gained the school plenty of fans ahead of the Orange Bowl.

Using geotagged data from X, formerly known as Twitter, BetOnline.ag created a map that uses information - including over 100,000 tweets - collected since the Orange Bowl matchup was set. It shows the Seminoles are the overwhelming favorite, with 43 U.S. states rooting for them to win, while Georgia is the more popular pick in just seven states.

The Orange Bowl will take place Dec. 30 at 4:00 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Florida State will be shorthanded, as several Seminoles players have opted out of the game.
