Ex-Washington State QB Ward entering NFL draft after exploring transfer
Former Washington State quarterback Cameron Ward will enter the 2024 NFL Draft after exploring his transfer options, he announced Monday.
Ward, who took official visits to Miami and Florida State, said he was considering going pro when he announced his intention to enter the portal in early December.
The 21-year-old, who had a year of eligibility remaining, joined the Cougars via transfer ahead of the 2022 season after starting his college career with Incarnate Word.
In 25 appearances for Washington State, Ward produced 6,968 passing yards and 48 touchdowns against 16 interceptions while adding 13 scores on the ground. He's currently projected to be a Day 3 selection in a strong quarterback class.
Following Ward's decision, Miami has pivoted to two other transfer quarterback options: USC's Malachi Nelson and Arkansas' KJ Jefferson, a source told Pete Thamel of ESPN. However, Jefferson has committed to joining UCF.
