Draymond Green said he understands why he was omitted from Team USA's player pool for the Paris 2024 Olympics but was hurt by the decision.

The Golden State Warriors forward represented the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the Tokyo 2020 Games, winning gold in both years. However, he wasn't among the 41 candidates named for the 2024 men's Olympic basketball team - a decision USA Basketball executive director Grant Hill said was influenced by Green's suspensions.

Green responded to the decision Monday on "The Draymond Green Show," saying he thinks the amount of talent available was a bigger factor.

"Yes, I was a little disappointed that it's like, 'Oh, suspension.' It's like, no, if I'm not good enough for that roster, just say I'm not good enough," he said. "'Cause guess what? Joel Embiid is Joel Embiid, AD is AD, LeBron is LeBron, Steph is Steph, Kawhi is Kawhi."

Green also admitted he was hurt that Hill didn't reach out to him directly but said he would jump at the chance to play in a third Olympics if Team USA needed him.

Green was suspended twice by the NBA this season for on-court altercations. He was forced to sit out five games after putting Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a headlock and then received an indefinite suspension for hitting the Phoenix Suns' Jusuf Nurkic in the face.
