Eagles' Kelce wants to reboot Backyard Sports video game series
Backyard Sports could be making a comeback thanks to Jason Kelce.
On Wednesday's episode of the "New Heights" podcast, the Philadelphia Eagles center revealed that he's been looking into rebooting the Backyard Football and Backyard Baseball video game series.
"I don't even know if I want to mention this 'cause I've secretly been looking into seeing if anybody holds the rights to Backyard Football and Backyard Baseball. 'Cause I want to buy it and get this thing going again," Kelce said.
"That was the best game ever. It was so electric. Can you imagine playing Backyard Football right now on your phone? 'Cause you could do that whole thing on your phone. It wasn't that complicated of a game."
Released in October 1997 for Macintosh and Microsoft Windows, Backyard Baseball was the first game to launch in the Backyard Sports series. The franchise later expanded to include football, soccer, basketball, hockey, and skateboarding versions, all featuring professional athletes as animated kids.
The most recent Backyard Sports games were released in 2015. The football version has been defunct since 2010.
