Giannis Antetokounmpo was ready to give up basketball following the death of his father in 2017.

In a trailer released Wednesday for the upcoming documentary "Giannis: The Marvelous Journey," the Milwaukee Bucks star opened up about losing his father, Charles, to a heart attack and the effect it had on him.

"I said, 'I don't wanna play no more,'" Antetokounmpo recalled.

However, Antetokounmpo chose to continue playing and went on to win an NBA championship with the Bucks in 2021.

"We're all going to die one day, so go conquer the world," he says in the trailer.

Premiering Sunday on Prime Video, "Giannis: The Marvelous Journey" chronicles Antetokounmpo's journey from his childhood in Greece as the son of Nigerian immigrants to becoming one of the biggest stars in the NBA today.

The documentary features interviews with Antetokounmpo and his entire family, as well as several notable basketball figures, including former Bucks head coach Jason Kidd, Khris Middleton, Ernie Johnson, and more.
