After sustaining what was initially termed a lower leg injury Sunday, Bunkley was seen in a walking boot afterward, which somewhat clouded his status in the near and long term. Luckily, the ailment is not season-ending, but as the Saints' clear-cut No. 1 option at nose tackle in their 3-4 defense, he will be missed by pass rushers Akiem Hicks and Cameron Jordan. In his absence, John Jenkins is the next man up in the middle of the defensive front.
