Tyler Zeller gains 20 pounds thanks to Krispy Kreme doughnuts
Cavaliers center Tyler Zeller gained 20 pounds during the off-season courtesy of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
But, Zeller's plan was completely intentional.
According to Cleveland.com, after the 7-foot big man suffered from the flu at the end of the 2012-13 season, he lost about eight pounds and spent the first three weeks of his vacation eating anything his heart desired. Including Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
"I ate about six in probably 10 minutes, maybe less," Zeller said. "They're so good. If you get them hot..."
When Zeller returned to Cleveland in late June, he was up 20 pounds, about eight more than the 250 he weighed for most of his rookie season.
"I'm not going to say I was fat, but I felt very out of shape. I had to transfer that into 'good' weight and muscle. Now I'm between 255-260, and I'm pretty happy with that, although I'm trying to gain more."
