LeBron: Pacers' McConnell 'one of my favorite players in the NBA'
Indiana Pacers guard T.J. McConnell has caught LeBron James' attention.
On the latest episode of his "Mind the Game" podcast with JJ Redick, James named McConnell as one of his current favorite NBA players and likened the 32-year-old to Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.
"One of my favorite players in the NBA right now is T.J. McConnell. … He's like Draymond as a point guard," James said.
Reddick agreed with James, adding, "Certain guys, they check into the game, and it changes the flow of the game."
McConnell was asked about James' comments Thursday and said he was humbled to receive support from the Los Angeles Lakers star.
"Obviously, it's very humbling him noticing what we're doing here," McConnell said, according to Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star. "All of it wouldn't be possible without my teammates."
McConnell is putting up some of the best numbers of his career this season, averaging 10.1 points and 5.4 assists per game while shooting 55.5% from the field.
