X map shows fans split on who to root for in NHL playoffs
Hockey fans across the United States and Canada are divided on which team they want to see win the Stanley Cup this season, new X data shows.
A map created by Betonline.ag based on over 110,000 geotagged tweets from the last week containing official fan hashtags shows that while the Colorado Avalanche have the most rooting interest, there's no clear fan favorite in this year's NHL playoffs.
The Avalanche are the most popular team to root for in nine states, while the New York Rangers rank second with seven states. The Toronto Maple Leafs have the most fan support among Canadian teams, with six provinces and one state backing them.
