Report: Pacers re-signing Siakam on 4-year, $189.5M deal

The Indiana Pacers are re-signing forward Pascal Siakam to a four-year, $189.5-million maximum contract, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Siakam plans to sign the deal July 6, when the NBA's free-agency moratorium ends.

Indiana acquired Siakam midway through the 2023-24 season from the Toronto Raptors for wing Bruce Brown, forward Jordan Nwora, and three first-round picks. Siakam averaged 21.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists over 41 games for the Pacers. His shooting also improved, jumping to 39% with his new team.

The 30-year-old led the team in scoring with 21.6 points per game during its postseason run to the Eastern Conference finals. He scored 367 total points in the playoff run, the most for a Pacers player since Paul George in 2014.

As their own free agent, the Pacers hold exclusive negotiating rights with Siakam until free agency begins at 6 p.m. ET on June 30 thanks to a new stipulation in the collective bargaining agreement.

His upcoming deal is the second-largest in franchise history, behind Tyrese Haliburton's five-year, $245-million extension signed last year.

Siakam, an All-Star in 2020 and 2023, spent the previous seven-and-a-half seasons in Toronto after being drafted 27th overall in 2016. He contributed to the Raptors' title run in 2019, winning Most Improved Player that season.

He holds career averages of 17.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.
