Bayern sign Olise from Palace in deal reportedly worth initial £45M
Bayern Munich bolstered their attack with the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, the Bundesliga side announced Sunday.
The French winger completed the move after agreeing to a long-term contract with Bayern that runs until June 2029.
Crystal Palace are parting with Olise after Bayern agreed to pay an initial £45 million, plus £5 million in add-ons, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports. The deal also includes a sell-on clause.
"The talks with FC Bayern were very positive, and I'm very happy to now be playing for such a big club," Olise told Bayern's website.
"It's a great challenge, and that's exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years."
Chelsea and Newcastle were also linked with the 22-year-old, but Olise preferred a move to Germany's most successful team to play under new Bayern boss Vincent Kompany, according to BBC Sport's Simon Stone.
Olise made 90 appearances in all competitions during his three years at Crystal Palace. He had 10 goals and six assists in 19 games during his breakout campaign for Palace last season.
He was selected by France to play at this summer's Olympics in Paris.
