Blues tender offer sheets to Oilers' Holloway, Broberg
The St. Louis Blues tendered offer sheets to Edmonton Oilers restricted free agents Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg on Tuesday.
St. Louis offered Holloway two years and $2.29 million per season, while Broberg's pact would be for two years with a $4.58-million cap hit.
Edmonton has seven days to match. The Oilers would receive a third-round pick and a second-rounder if they don't match the offer sheets for Holloway and Broberg, respectively.
The Blues reacquired their 2025 second-round pick from the Pittsburgh Penguins earlier Tuesday to set up the offer sheets. St. Louis also received a 2026 fifth-rounder in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick and a 2025 third-rounder.
Edmonton is currently $354,000 over the NHL's $88-million salary-cap limit, according to PuckPedia. Holloway and Broberg are the club's only unsigned players.
Holloway was the 14th overall pick in 2020. The 22-year-old notched nine points in 38 regular-season contests last season and added five goals in 25 playoff games as the Oilers reached the Stanley Cup Final.
Broberg was drafted eighth overall in 2019, and played only 12 NHL games last season before he took on an increased role in the playoffs. He averaged nearly 16 minutes over 10 postseason appearances and contributed three points.
