Report: Maple Leafs' Robertson still wants to be traded
More than two months have passed since Nick Robertson asked for a trade, but that doesn't mean he's given up on a change of scenery.
The restricted free-agent forward still prefers that the Toronto Maple Leafs deal him, TSN's Pierre LeBrun said on TSN 1050's "OverDrive" on Thursday.
In late June, it was reported Robertson informed the club he had no plans to re-sign and asked for a trade.
Robertson, who'll turn 23 on Wednesday, played a career-high 56 games with the Leafs last season but expressed frustration when they sent him down to the AHL in March.
The American left-winger was once the organization's top prospect, but prior to last season, he was plagued by numerous injuries that prevented him from carving out a consistent role in the NHL.
Robertson collected 14 goals and 13 assists during the 2023-24 regular season. He was then held pointless in six playoff contests. Robertson's injuries limited him to 31 games over three campaigns before the most recent season.
The Maple Leafs drafted him 53rd overall in 2019.
