Eagles fans begin tailgating at 5 a.m. for MNF matchup
Philadelphia Eagles fans were up bright and early in anticipation for the team's Monday Night Football matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
A number of Eagles supporters were lined up outside Lincoln Financial Field as early as 5:00 a.m. on Monday to begin tailgating ahead of the game's 8:15 p.m. kickoff.
Monday's home opener will have some added significance, as former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is set to be honored by the team during the game. Foles announced his retirement from the NFL in August following an 11-year career, which included a Super Bowl championship with the Eagles.
"He's got a statue sitting over there that commemorates everything he did for this city," one fan told NBC Philadelphia's Neil Fischer of Foles. "Not just that one moment. That actually means more than just that one moment."
The Eagles are currently 1-0 after opening the season with a 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers.
