X map shows support split for Liberty, Lynx in WNBA Finals

Fans across the United States are divided on which team they want to see win the WNBA Finals this season, according to new X data.

A map created by BetOnline.ag based on over 80,000 geotagged tweets gathered since the Finals matchup was set shows the New York Liberty have 27 states rooting for them to win, while the Minnesota Lynx are favored in 23 states.

The Lynx defeated the Liberty 95-93 in overtime Thursday to take Game 1 of the best-of-five series. Minnesota became the first team in WNBA postseason history to win a game after trailing by 15-plus points in the final five minutes of regulation.

Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday.
