Paul vs. Tyson becomes most-streamed sporting event in history
A record-breaking number of people tuned in to watch Jake Paul and Mike Tyson square off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Friday night.
The blockbuster fight peaked at 65-million concurrent streams and had an estimated average minute audience (AMA) of 108-million live viewers globally from the opening bell to the finish, making it the most-watched streaming sporting event ever, Netflix and Most Valuable Productions announced in a press release Tuesday.
The undercard match between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano also drew a record audience, becoming the most-watched professional women's sports event in United States history with an estimated 74-million live viewers globally and 47 AMA in the U.S.
The event ranked as Netflix's No. 1 title for the week and attracted 46.6-million views through Sunday night, according to the release.
The 27-year-old Paul defeated Tyson, 58, via unanimous decision to improve to 11-1 with seven knockouts as a pro. Tyson's career record now stands at 50-7-2.
