The Seattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies engaged in trade talks for All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm, sources told Adam Jude of The Seattle Times.
The Phillies asked for one of George Kirby or Logan Gilbert in the initial talks with Seattle balking at the price, Jude reports.
Bohm put together the best campaign of his career in 2024 en route to making his first All-Star team. The 28-year-old registered a 117 OPS+ with 15 home runs, 44 doubles, and 97 RBIs in 143 games.
Bohm is projected to earn $8.1 million in arbitration next season and is under team control through the 2026 campaign.
The Mariners have a hole at third base with Josh Rojas hitting free agency. Rojas finished 21st in home runs and OPS last season.
