Simone Biles may have competed in her final Olympics.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated's Stephanie Apstein after the publication named her "2024 Sportsperson of the Year," the 11-time Olympic medalist said she would feel "greedy" by returning to compete at the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.

"Life and death," Biles responded when asked what the L.A. Olympics would need to be about for her to compete. "Because I've accomplished so much, there's almost nothing left to do, rather than to just be snobby and to try again and for what? I'm at a point in my career where I'm humble enough to know when to be done.

"If you go back, you'll be greedy. Those are the consequences. But that's also your decision to decide. What sacrifices would be made if I go back now? When you're younger, it’s like, prom, college. Now it's like, starting a family, being away from my husband. What's really worth it?"

Biles competed in her third Olympics last summer in Paris, taking home three gold medals and one silver to become the most decorated U.S. Olympic gymnast in history.

The 27-year-old tied the knot with Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens in April 2023.
