Notre Dame will have plenty of fan support from across the United States when it faces Penn State in the Orange Bowl on Thursday.
A map created by BetOnline.ag based on geotagged X data gathered since the College Football Playoff semifinal matchups were set, including over 180,000 tweets, shows the Fighting Irish are the overwhelming fan favorites among the four teams. Forty states are rooting for them to advance.
Penn State was the second-most popular pick with five states, followed by Texas with four states and Ohio State with one.

Notre Dame is making its third appearance in the CFP and first since the 2020 season, when it lost to eventual national champion Alabama in the Rose Bowl.
