Beal's agent: Reports about waiving no-trade clause 'created out of thin air'
Bradley Beal's agent, Mark Bartelstein, says recent reports about the Phoenix Suns guard potentially waiving his no-trade clause to join a specific team were "created out of thin air," according to Duane Rankin of AZ Central.
"Brad's entire focus has been and is on getting healthy with his ankle and helping turn things around for the Suns," Bartelstein said.
The Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers are rumored to be destinations the 31-year-old would consider in a potential trade.
The Bucks are reportedly of specific interest to Beal, and a multi-team deal would help the Suns land Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler. However, a connection between Beal and the Bucks is "nonexistent," according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
The Heat are also not interested in acquiring Beal for Butler, according to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7FM.
The Bucks and Heat reportedly bid against the Suns when the Wizards traded him to Phoenix in 2023.
Beal is one of two players in the NBA that holds a no-trade clause, allowing him to veto any move. The 31-year-old was removed from his starting role earlier in January and is averaging 14.7 points, four assists, and 3.1 rebounds off the bench over seven contests.
