Penguins flip Luke Schenn to Jets
The Winnipeg Jets acquired defenseman Luke Schenn from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round selection, the teams announced.
The Penguins picked up Schenn and forward Tommy Novak from the Nashville Predators for winger Michael Bunting and a 2026 fourth-round pick Wednesday.
Schenn is under contract for one more season with a $2.75-million cap hit.
A right-handed shot, Schenn had one goal and five points in 61 outings for the Predators this campaign while averaging 15:35 of ice time per contest. He also leads the squad with 228 hits and ranks second with 76 blocks.
The 35-year-old won two Stanley Cups with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and 2021. He has 47 games of playoff experience under his belt, including 16 contests over the past two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Predators.
Schenn has skated in 1,057 career NHL games, split between the Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, Arizona Coyotes, Anaheim Ducks, Vancouver Canucks, Maple Leafs, Lightning, and Predators.
