The Boston Bruins traded center Charlie Coyle and a 2026 fifth-round pick to the Colorado Avalanche for forward Casey Mittelstadt, prospect Will Zellers, and a 2025 second-round selection, the teams confirmed Friday.

Coyle is under contract for one more season with a cap hit of $5.25 million. He recorded 15 goals and 22 points in 64 contests for the Bruins this campaign.

The 33-year-old has spent the past seven seasons in Boston, hitting a career-high 25 tallies and 60 points in 2023-24.

Coyle has amassed 472 points in 931 career NHL games with Boston and the Minnesota Wild.

His addition further bolsters the Avalanche's center depth after they acquired coveted forward Brock Nelson from the New York Islanders on Thursday.

Mittelstadt has 11 goals and 34 points in 63 games this campaign. Colorado scooped him up from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for defenseman Bowen Byram last March.

The 26-year-old has two years remaining on his deal with a $5.75-million cap hit.

Zellers has scored 37 goals in 40 games for the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers in 2024-25. The Avalanche selected the 18-year-old forward in the third round of last year's draft.
