The NBA issued warnings to Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant and Golden State Warriors wing Buddy Hield for making finger gun gestures Tuesday night, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Neither player will be penalized. The league also warned the respective teams, ruling that the celebrations were inappropriate but not intended to be violent.
The incident occurred during a stoppage of play toward the end of the Warriors' victory, as Morant made the gesture on his way to the Grizzlies' bench. Hield responded similarly, and the duo were assessed technical fouls.
Morant was suspended twice during the 2022-23 season for flashing a gun on social media.
