New York Giants legend Phil Simms has no issue with the franchise bringing his No. 11 out of retirement for rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter or quarterback Jaxson Dart.

While fellow Giants great Lawrence Taylor isn't keen on the idea of Carter donning his retired No. 56, Simms told FanDuel TV's Sal Iacono on Friday he'd be fine with either of the team's top two draft picks wearing his number.

"I told some of my friends and people around me, I said, 'Oh, I'd let him have it in a second," Simms said of Dart, the No. 25 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. "I said, 'Can you just help it a little and make it better?' Or whatever. I think it would be a lot of fun, it wouldn't bother me."

Simms, who played 14 seasons with the Giants and led the franchise to two Super Bowl championships, went on to say his agent advised him against giving up his number.

"Well, first off, I don't think Abdul Carter's gonna ask for it. But if he would've, if it's up to me, I probably would give it to him," Simms said.

Carter appears willing to take Simms up on the offer, as the No. 3 overall draft pick tweeted Friday, "It would be an HONOR."

Carter wore No. 11 at Penn State but recently expressed interest in switching to No. 56, to which Taylor responded, "Get another number. I don't care if it's double zero, and then make it famous."
