Giannis: Team USA vs. World All-Star Game would be 'must-see basketball'
Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to see the NBA All-Star Game switch things up next year.
The Milwaukee Bucks star responded to a proposal of a Team USA vs. Team World basketball series Monday on X, saying the NBA should use the format for the 2026 All-Star Game.
"This should be next year All-Star Game format!! Must-see basketball," he wrote.
Antetokounmpo could get his wish, as NBA commissioner Adam Silver said last month that the league is considering a new international format for the 2026 All-Star Game that would be "to some extent leaning a little bit on this idea of U.S. versus rest of the world."
The NBA used a mini-tournament format for this year's All-Star Game, which Silver admitted was a "miss."
Next year's All-Star Game will take place Feb. 15 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
