Herbert posted a 24-under cumulative score at LIV Golf Virginia to win the tournament by four strokes over Sergio Garcia.
Analysis:
Herbert entered the weekend with the tournament comfortably in hand after going 17-under over the first two days of the tournament, including a bogey-free, nine-under 63 score Friday. He cooled down over the final two days and looked a little shaky Sunday, but the lead he built for himself was more than enough to hold off the rest of the field. It was the first LIV Golf victory in Herbert's career, and more importantly, it was enough for him to surpass Thomas Detry for third in the individual standings, earning Herbert a spot at the U.S. Open Championship in June. The LIV Golf circuit will resume May 28 at Asiad Country Club in Busan, South Korea.
