Hatton opened the tournament with a two-over 72 score Thursday but made things difficult for himself Friday, when he carded three bogeys over the first four holes of the second round. He was right at the four-over cut line through 12 holes, but he was unable to overcome his back-to-back bogeys on the 14th and 15th holes. It was Hatton's first MC at the PGA Championship since 2020 and his first missed cut at a major since The Open Championship in 2024. The Englishman will tee off at LIV Golf Korea and Andalucia before returning to North America for the U.S. Open Championship in June. Hatton finished T4 in last year's U.S. Open, and the last time he teed off at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club was at the 2018 U.S. Open, when he finished T6.
